Twists of Fate. Part- II

And, he drove away!
She stood there transfixed, having no idea how to react. Every hope, every expectation shattered like glass pieces. Everything again became gloomy, just when she was about to find a ray of light in her life. Just when she thought things for the first time would turn out the way she wanted them too.
But no. How sinister the world is! Am I the only object of GOD’S derision? Why does this always happen to me? She thought.
She walked towards her home, each step taken with great difficulty. Knocking on the door was even more difficult, as she knew she would be welcomed with rebukes and lectures from her mother.
She knocked, only to realize that the door was open.
“Are you alright? What took you so long? Is this the time a girl of your age should come home?” shouted her Mom, livid with anger.
“I am sorry, Mom. I shouldn’t have been late”, she said in a low tone.
“What’s wrong, beta?” her mom said in a calmer tone as if feeling sorry for scolding Sanaya.
She knew her mother would understand. How would she not? After all Sanaya was a lawyer in the strictest sense. She had an excuse for every wrong she did and a logic for every wrong others did. And today, she had no excuse to make, no logic to put forward but a simple sorry!
“I know I have been a bad mother, always scolding you and intervening in your life. All our relatives were correct when they said single parenting is difficult.” Her Mom said in a dejected tone.
Yes, she had been unlucky in that part too. Her father left them when she was 13 years of age, and settled abroad with some other woman. Initially, she was sad that her dad had left her but then she was happy – happy living with her Mom, who did all she could, for her.
“No Mamma, please don’t say that. You have been the best mom on Earth. You have fulfilled all my wishes and desires, made me what I am. All that I am and all that I will be, I owe it to you. And Mom I don’t need anybody else in my life if I have you”, she said but somewhere, heart in heart she missed her dad.
“Then why don’t you tell me what is amiss?” Her mom enquired.
She could not lie but was unable to say the truth. And tears rolled her cheek.
She hugged her Mom tight and cried, cried out her pain, frustration, agony – agony she felt after the day’s incident. She felt safe, secure because she believed no one could hurt her if her mom was with her.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me what happened. But always remember that there are people who care for you and are hurt when you are in pain. Things cannot always be the way you want them to be. It may sound stereotype but always keep one thing in your mind beta, jo hota hai ache ke lie hota hai. May be there are better things in store for you. You have been a strong girl and I know you will always be so. Wipe your tears now and go to sleep. Tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning.” Her mom said.
This was the reason she loved her mom. She understood all her unexpressed feelings and thoughts, moreover gave her courage to start afresh.
Sanaya got up to go to her room.
“Sanaya, talk to Aarav once. He said he’s here for a week and that he would meet you tomorrow.”
“Okay Mom. Good Night!” Sanaya said with a smile, which was may be because Aarav was back.
It was already 1:00p.m. She decided to call him the next day.
And with a hope of a new and a better day, she dozed off to sleep.
P.S: Life is full of surprises. And a little more patience can make the surprise even more special. Happy Reading! J

Twists of Fate.

Drenched in rain, at 11:00p.m, on the High Street of Shimla, with a tinge of fear on face, stood Sanaya. She was waiting for a cab to come, murmuring prayers and saying to herself “ I will never do this again. I should have told mom about the party. Why does this always happen with me?”

She took out the phone and dialed.  The number you are trying to call is out of reach. Please try again later. Hell scared she was! What was to happen next? How would she get home?
She could see a car coming. “Should I ask for a lift?” She pondered.  As these thoughts  raced in her mind, the big car stopped. A big, black SUV. Who was it? She could see a figure. The figure of a man. Why did he stop? She never asked him to. He rolled down the front windshield.

It was him. But he was gone… never to come back.

She stood dumbstruck, completely numb. He was right in front of her and she could not utter a word and she had so much to say! She could not be wrong. It was him, Ryaan Sareen— The guy she loved in high school and probably still did.

The memories of the High School Ryaan flashed in front of her eyes like snaps of the past.

She was happy— happy to see him, glad that he stopped for her and remembered her and anxious to know why he was back after 5 long years.

“Umm…Hi,” she said in a hesitant tone.

“Hey. Can I drop you somewhere? Getting a cab in this odd hour is pretty difficult” he said in the same husky voice she loved.

She had never got a chance to interact with him personally, he being the stud of the school. But now she had something to say to her old buddies. She could say that he remembered her.

Unwillingly she said, “I don’t want to trouble you. I will manage.”

“You are in no way troubling me. Get in.” he said.

Overjoyed with one good thing happening in her life, she got in.

The car started and he played a beautiful song.
Aankhein teri kitni haseen..ke inka aashiq main ban gaya hoon mujhko chupa le in mein tu..

Was that for her? She felt special. She didn’t know how to start a conversation but knew he would never initiate it. An introduction was of course not required, after all they were school mates. More importantly he remembered her.

“So what do you do?” she asked though she knew he was a photographer.

“I am a freelance photographer and you?”

“I am a legal advisor in ABC Firm.”

“Wow, lawyer then! Help me out someday. I am in need of it.” He chuckled.

“Sure. Anytime. Umm…Please stop here. My home is just round the corner. Thank you so much for your help.”

She didn’t want to but she got down from the car. She had never reached home in such a short span of time. She shouldn’t have today too when she wanted the journey to be a long one..

“My pleasure lady! Good Night.”

“Good Night,” said she with a grin.

She turned to leave. “Excuse Me?” He called from behind.

Her heart skipped a beat. She forgot to breathe for a moment as she thought to herself— May be I dropped something, maybe he wants my number, maybe he’d ask about our other batch mates.

“Yes.” Taking a deep breath she turned to face him again, smiling to herself.

It was a pleasure meeting you. I am sorry but may I please know you name?”

She was stunned. All that she thought was wrong. He didn’t remember her.

Gathering all the courage she had, she said, “Sanaya Khurana. I am sure you too would not mind asking me your name?”

“Oh! Not at all. Ryaan Sareen. Okay bye.”

And he drove away!!

Love me Again!

Hold me back before i am out of reach,
Can nothing happen to the relationship with with a breach.?
Call me again with those mushy names,
Those midnight cute and sweet games.?
Hug me again with the same passion,
Give me again that love and devotion.
Find me the love of which i am devoid,
Do something, i am going paranoid.
Take me again to the land of dreams,
I remember us sharing ice-creams.
Give me the love, give me the care,
This is my life you got to be fair.
I love you, yes i still do,
I will never break your heart..Trust me its true.!
